The Legendary Tigerman releasing 'Misfit' in U.S. w/ bonus EP (stream a track)

Portugese blues punk musician The Legendary Tigerman (aka Paolo Furtado) has been making music for nearly 30 years, first with Tédio Boys and then as a successful solo artist since 2000. For his sixth album, Misfit, he embarked on a twelve-day road trip from Los Angeles to Death Valley, where he lived as an imaginary character on a quest to “become nothing.” “Everyday during this journey, I would wake up at 6:30 AM and write a new entry to the diary of this man,” says Paulo. “Before going to sleep, I would always try to write a song. I wanted to write songs that were influenced by the desert, by its heat, by the suffering of this quest, and by this man.” The cinematic concept album was recorded at the famed Rancho de Luna studio in Joshua Tree and released in Portugal back in January. If you’re unfamiliar with The Legendary Tigerman, Misfit should appeal to fans of The Hives, The Kills, White Stripes and Queens of The Stone Age, and you can stream a few tracks from it below.

Misfit is getting a U.S. release on August 24 (preorder) with a four-track Misfit Ballads EP. We’ve got the premiere of “Lonesome Sweetheart” from that which displays a gentler side to The Legendary Tigerman than you get on album, more in a Marty Robbins cowboy songs kind of way, yet very 2018. Stream that below.
